A town between water and rock

Lecco sits where the lake narrows and the mountains draw close to the town. The lakefront and centre suit a slower day of walking and views across the water; a little higher, the cable car reaches Piani d'Erna and opens the landscape towards the Resegone.

There is no need to do everything. Choose a day in town, time at altitude, or combine a short city walk with an easier visit to Piani d'Erna, always checking the weather and cable-car service.

The town offers three nearby yet different experiences. Any one of them can become the centre of the day without needing to combine them all.

The lakefront and town centre

The waterside walk leads towards the streets of the centre, among squares, cafés and views of the mountains. It is the simplest way to get to know Lecco, leaving room for pauses and spontaneous detours.

Piani d'Erna

From the Versasio station, the cable car reaches the Piani d'Erna basin in a few minutes. At altitude, you can pause at viewpoints or choose a route suited to your time and experience.

The Resegone and its trails

The outline of the Resegone accompanies the town and invites you to walk, but its mountain routes require preparation and a considered choice of itinerary. For a more accessible option, the Sentiero Natura at Piani d'Erna is an educational circular trail of about seven kilometres.

Two ideas for the day

Slow Lecco: lakefront and centre

Lecco at altitude: Piani d'Erna
Reach Versasio, check the cable-car service and travel up to Piani d'Erna. Choose a short walk or the Sentiero Natura according to the time available, ground conditions and your preparation.
A lighter combination
In favourable conditions, spend the morning at Piani d'Erna and the late afternoon by the lake, without adding a long hike on the Resegone.
