A climb that changes your perspective

Upper Montevecchia reveals itself gradually. The route leaves the valley floor behind and climbs through rural stretches, vineyards and village houses to the Sanctuary of the Beata Vergine del Carmelo.

At the top, the church square and Belvedere invite you to pause. The walk can continue through the lanes of the historic centre, following the landscape rather than the clock.

Three ways to experience upper Montevecchia

The Sanctuary is the best-known landmark, but the visit gains meaning through the relationship between the climb, the village and the landscape around it.

The Sanctuary and the Stations of the Cross

The steps lead towards the forecourt of the Sanctuary of the Beata Vergine del Carmelo. Along the route, the chapels of the Stations of the Cross create a slow sequence to observe as part of the place and its history.

The Belvedere

From Montevecchia's high point, the view follows the plain and, on clear days, reaches the distant outlines of the mountains. It is a place to pause rather than a stop to rush through.

The village among villas and vineyards

Beyond the Sanctuary, the walk continues through quiet lanes, historic homes and terraces. The agricultural landscape remains close to the village and expresses Montevecchia's hillside character.
